Viterbo University offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Arts Administration through the Department of Theatre and Music Theatre. This interdisciplinary degree program prepares arts advocates with excellent leadership, managerial, and administrative skills, grounded in a respect and appreciation for all of the fine and performing arts. The strengths of the Viterbo School of Fine Arts' performing and visual arts departments, and those of the Dahl School of Business, are combined with the many activities in the magnificent Viterbo University Fine Arts Center to provide an exceptional learning environment and opportunities for the arts administration major.
Students take classes in all the arts to gain an overview, and then go on to earn a concentration in one of the fine arts areas, as well as gaining a strong business foundation from the Dahl School of Business. An internship is a requirement which helps our students excel in the profession. Our majors have gone on to work with such institutions as Houston Ballet, Center Stage of Richmond, VA, Prairie Fire Children's Theatre, Theatre Cedar Rapids, and Arts Midwest. We prepare students to influence the artistic life of the communities in which they live.
Acceptance to Viterbo University followed by an interview with the faculty, as well as a resume and two letters of reference are required to gain admission to the BFA in Arts Administration. We encourage applicants to visit campus and sit in on classes, as well as meet the faculty. Students may interview at the National Unified Auditions, as well as on campus.
