Who is this program best for?
This program works best for people who want a major that combines management and information systems courses. It also provides the foundation if you want to go on and earn a MBA. This program is designed for the adult learner who wants to attend classes in the evening or online.

What are the admission requirements and how do I apply?
The management information systems major is designed for students who have earned an associate degree or have approximately two years of college coursework completed (exceptions can be made for students with different backgrounds). Students need a minimum of a 2.0 GPA to transfer to Viterbo. Since this major is part of the Dahl School of Business, students need to maintain a 2.5 GPA in all their business coursework. To apply, submit the online application for admission, and request your official transcripts of all college coursework be sent to Viterbo's Center for Adult Learning.

Will my previous college coursework transfer?
Yes, Viterbo has a very generous transfer policy. Students with a completed associate degree will generally transfer 60–72 credits; leaving approximately 64 credits remaining. You must earn a grade of C or better to transfer. Computer courses that are more than five years old will transfer, but will not fulfill major requirements.

How long will it take me to complete my degree?
Every student is different but most students who transfer in an associate degree or 60+ credits will complete their bachelor’s degree in two to three years. You can attend either full or part-time, whatever works for your personal situation. If you want to attend school on a full-time basis you must carefully think through the work load with your academic advisor.

How much study time is required when taking an accelerated class?
You should expect to spend 10–15 hours a week in preparation for class. If you are taking an online class you will need to plan on 15–20 hours a week.

Can I apply for financial aid?
Yes. Every student who is enrolled in a minimum of six credits each semester is eligible to apply for financial aid. The financial aid office will determine each semester if you are an online or on-campus student.

How do I get started?
Begin the process by submitting your application for admission and requesting your college transcripts. If you live within driving distance, an appointment with your academic advisor is recommended and strongly encouraged.
