This is a TEST DRILL. A Tornado WATCH is in effect for the area including Viterbo. A WATCH indicates tornado conditions exist in the area and weather should be closely monitored. NO ACTION IS REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. A TORNADO WARNING requiring your evacuation to designated areas will be issued at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Integrated Studies  

Policy

  • Two-thirds of the credits in focus and support areas must be upper division.
  • Two-thirds of the credits in focus and support areas must be completed at Viterbo.  

Integrated Studies (degree completion) Major (Bachelor of Arts or Science)

  • core curriculum and mission seminars – see the core curriculum section of this catalog
  • major course requirements– COMM 211, INST 395, 495, UNST 310, two courses from COMM 150, 205, 310, PSYC 250, OMGT 302, 304, SOCL 250 (these courses may not be used in the focus or support area)
  • focus and support area*
    • a focus area – 15 credits in one discipline
    • a support area – nine credits in a second discipline from the following: business, English, ethics, history, legal studies, philosophy, psychology, religious studies, science, sociology; or women’s studies.
  • final degree requirements– see the degree requirements section of this catalog for specific requirements of the Bachelor of Arts or Science degree as well as final graduation requirements
    The total credits of the major requirements are 37. The core curriculum and mission seminars require 38-52 credits. A total of 128 credits, 43 of which need to be at the 300/400 level, are required to graduate. Transfer course, waivers and/or substitutions, and prerequisite courses could modify these credit totals.  

*Students will submit a plan of study for evaluation and approval by a faculty consultant designated by the chair of a department in a student’s focus area, an academic advisor in the Center for Adult Learning, and the department chair of Interdisciplinary Studies. The student will provide copies of the plan of study to the faculty consultant, his or her Center for Adult Learning advisor, the department chair of Interdisciplinary Studies, and the registrar.
