LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University music department will present a Spring Choral Concert, Sunday, April 27 at 4 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 400 West Avenue in La Crosse.

Works to be performed by the Viterbo Concert Choir include Irving Fine’s The Lobster Quadrille and Father William from Three Choral Settings from “Alice and Wonderland”; Eric Whitacre’s The Seal Lullaby and With a lily in your hand;  Charles Villiers Stanford’s The Blue Bird. Choir, soloists and pianist Judy Stafslien will perform a dramatic choral setting of Franz Schubert’s The Erl King. The 9th Street Singers will sing settings of Skylark, Blackbird, and a German pop song arranged by Sixth Wave “ Verlieben, Verlieren” (Lost in Love) which features mezzo soloist Brittany Thummel. Men of the ensemble will perform  Kirby Shaw’s arrangement of Bridge Over Troubled Water.

The Viterbo Concert Choir toured Austria and Germany in December and a CD of their music from this tour will be available for purchase. The concert is free and the public is invited to celebrate spring with this joyful music performed by the Concert Choir and 9th Street Singers in the choral finale to the school year.
