Program Requirements

  • Examination of health care issues such as informed consent, medical records and disclosure of patient information, ethical billing and coding practices and end of life decisions
  • Analysis of healthcare policies on issues of access, equity, affordability and social justice
  • Understanding how information technology supports patient safety and quality of care
  • Broad exposure to the liberal arts
  • Additional course work in the social sciences (psychology, sociology, criminal justice)
  • Viterbo University's Core Curriculum Requirements (broad exposure to the liberal arts - courses from your associates degree may transfer)
  • A previous 2-year degree in a health care related field from a regionally accredited college or university
  • A total of 128 credits (transfer credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities can apply, as well as credit for prior learning)
  • Completion of your major requirements (see below - some courses may transfer from your associates degree)
