Our MBA students have the option to choose elective courses so that they complete the requirements for emphasis areas, which build in-depth expertise in a chosen field.

Emphasis Areas

Our emphasis areas allow you to create the best academic path to meet your post-MBA goals. Each emphasis area requires the completion of nine credits from a list of suggestions that have been carefully chosen by faculty and practitioners.  A student may choose to concentrate the capstone project on the area of emphasis to satisfy three of the nine required emphasis credits.

Dahl School MBA students choose one or more of the following emphasis areas, or they may choose to complete a general MBA, selecting any variety of elective courses.

To complete the MBA with an emphasis area, students complete 21 credits of core coursework, the capstone project, and choose at least two electives focused in the area of emphasis. A sample list of courses that meet the requirements for each emphasis are shown below.  For full course descriptions and requirements, please see the graduate catalog.
