Admission to the Art Department
Admission to the art department is by portfolio review. Prospective students are asked to bring examples of their work, at which time they will be given a tour of the department and meet with one or more members of the art faculty. Students whose prior experiences in art are limited may be admitted to the department on a provisional basis if they indicate serious interest. Portfolio reviews should be arranged prior to May 1 for admission for the following academic year.
The Art Department awards renewable Talent Scholarships to incoming art majors on the basis of portfolio reviews. These scholarships are
in addition to other academic awards and financial aid that you may
eligible to receive. Prospective students who do reviews by March 1 are
given priority scholarship consideration. Those who do reviews after
March 1 may be eligible to receive scholarships that have not yet been
