Physics Facilities

Viterbo’s science programs are housed in the Reinhart Center, which is less than ten years old and equipped with modern classrooms, two computer labs, ample research space, a small science library, and wireless internet access. The physics teaching lab is equipped with laptop computers interfaced with electronic data acquisition systems.  Most introductory and upper-level labs use the systems to electronically acquire and analyze data, complete reports, and submit results. The physics research lab is pictured below, and is used primarily to conduct research in medical ultrasound.  It is currently equipped with a custom-built, single-element ultrasound system driven by a desktop computer that is also outfitted to run acoustic simulations and analyze acoustic data.
