Course Numbering System

 

Courses numbered 100–199 are primarily for freshmen; 200–299 for sophomores; 300–399 for juniors; 400–499 for seniors; and 500–899 for graduate students. Courses with numbers preceded by zeros represent courses that will appear on the transcript but are not applicable toward graduation requirements.

Courses on topics of interest to students in a particular discipline offered on the basis of need, interest, or timeliness. Prerequisites as determined by instructor. Restricted to students with freshman or sophomore standing (286) or restricted to students with junior standing or higher (486.) May be repeated for credit.

287, 487 Experiential Learning: Internships

 

Non-classroom experiences. Placements are generally off-campus, and may be full- or part-time, and with or without pay. Credit for experiences must be sought prior to occurrence, and learning contracts must be submitted before the end of the first week of the semester. A maximum of 15 credits of 287/487 can be used to meet graduation requirements. See the experiential learning: internship section of the academic policy section this catalog for details. Restricted to students with freshman or sophomore standing (287) or restricted to students with junior standing or higher (487.) May be repeated for credit. Graded CR/NC.
