The Viterbo University iPad initiative is designed to explore how iPads can impact teaching and learning. Faculty participants engage in an intensive cohort process, lead by a team of facilitators. Faculty meet twice a month and are expected to actively engage in intentional reflection, discussion, and experimentation. The first semester of this initiative is a participatory forum for faculty to orient to and experiment with the device. The second semester involves tracking specific learning outcomes related to iPad classroom activities and reporting on those results.
In the 2013-2014 academic year, we have two cohorts; a Flipped Classroom cohort and a Technology-enhanced Pedagogy cohort. Both are exploring how technology can enhance classroom teaching, but are taking different approaches.
