Blended RN to BSN Program
Viterbo has one of the strongest nursing programs in Wisconsin and has developed a blended classroom BSN Completion program (sometimes referred to as a RN to BSN program). Our tradition and reputation date back to the founding Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration who were among the first to train skilled and competent nurses. Viterbo’s College of Nursing, Health, and Human Behavior has graduated over 4,000 BSN-prepared nurses since 1971 and Viterbo graduates the largest number of baccalaureate-prepared nurses among private colleges in the state. If you are searching for a degree completion program for RN to BSN in Wisconsin, this is your program.
The BSN Completion program has provided a quality educational opportunity for over 25 years with a personalized approach and small class sizes. Our flexible, accelerated RN to BSN program is designed for busy working registered nurses who want to complete a Bachelor's degree. Our accredited program is designed for busy working registered nurses wanting to complete a Bachelor's degree.
We understand the challenges adult learning presents. Our BSN completion program gives you the opportunity to learn at your own pace when it’s convenient for you. It allows you to work around your busy schedule, family life, and other personal responsibilities.
Blended program: In this program, we offer all nursing classes one morning a week, for four hours, at one of our four locations, while the general education courses are offered online. Site locations (2016):
- Eau Claire
- La Crosse
Online program: In this online program, we offer all nursing classes and general education classes fully online.
(Final locations and start dates for the BSN Completion program are determined based on interest and enrollment.)
- Graduate from a regionally-accredited Associate degree or diploma nursing program
- Documentation of an active U.S. registered nurse license or its international equivalent prior to beginning the second nursing course
BSN Career Opportunities
The career outlook for registered nurses is very good. Earning your BSN can help you advance your career in nursing. You may have the opportunity to pursue positions as an administrator or nurse educator. Also, many specialties in nursing – such as clinical nurse specialists, nurse anesthetists, nurse-midwives, and nurse practitioners – require a Bachelor’s degree.
This program prepares students for professional holistic nursing practice. Many nurses advance in their career by earning an advanced degree as well, and with our BSN degree you're prepared and eligible to enter a Master's or post-Master's degree program.
