English Literature at Viterbo

Studying English is about discovering, interpreting, and creating meaning. English literature explores these understandings in its various forms. From the American and British canons to creative writing and poetry, English literature provides exposure to diverse cultures and understandings. English literature also teaches the power of the written word, and how to communicate ideas in a variety of forms.

At Viterbo, English literature students have a variety of opportunities to hone this process through writing and research with faculty. Students take a wide variety of courses on literature and writing where they explore their research interests. Summer research offers students the opportunity to work with a faculty advisor to create and present original research. In addition to a host of student-edited publications, students create a senior capstone project, allowing them to delve deeper into a topic of their choosing.
