English Writing at Viterbo

English writing is about developing creativity and writing skills through ideas and language. From argumentative to creative writing, these communication skills are essential in today’s modern workplace.

A major in English writing at Viterbo provides students with the opportunity to choose from a variety of courses designed to help them not only understand the foundations of good writing, but also develop, practice, and perfect those skills. These courses include, but are not limited to, Creative Nonfiction, Creative Writing: Fiction, Newspaper Reporting and Writing, and Argumentative Writing. Additionally, students are given the opportunity to practice these skills by joining the staff of Viterbo’s student newspaper, the Lumen, or Viterbo’s literary and arts journal, Touchstone.

Writing and effective communication are fundamental—often essential—skills that are required in almost every industry. Viterbo English writing graduates thrive in a variety of careers.
