Tree Plantings

May 5, 2017 the Student Sustainability Club planted 2 Princeton American Elm trees in front of San Damiano Chapel, to replace the Ash trees that were affected by the Emerald Ash Borer Beetle. 

   

MPower Business Champions Update

MPower is a one-year, fully customizable program for businesses and organizations in the 7 Rivers Region that Viterbo University joined in February 2017. The MPower program looks to REDUCE their environmental impact while SAVING COSTS and creating a HEALTHIER and more ENGAGING WORKPLACE AND COMMUNITY.

April 18, 2017 - Earth Day and Spirit of St. Francis Sustainability Day

The Environmental Responsibility Committee presented the 2017 Spirit of St. Francis Sustainability Award cerificates to Joshua Housel, student and Michael Alfieri, Associate Professor, Biology.

A Burgundy Belle Maple tree was planted on the north lawn of Murphy Center, sponsored by the Student Sustainability Club, followed by a Farmers Market.

Vendors included :

Viterbo University Student Sustainability Club, succulents and cacti plant sale

Hillview Urban Agriculture Center, micro sprouts and starter plants

Herbs All Around

NEW RECYCLING RULES:

Viterbo now accepts plastics rated 1-7, in addition to everything accepted before, glass, aluminum, tin cans, computer paper, card board boxes, envelopes, magazines, newspapers, and notebook paper.
