VITERBO UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT HOW THE OTHER HALF LOVES AT THE WEBER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS NOV. 10–11, 17–18
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University theatre students will present the comedy How the Other Half Loves at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10–Saturday, Nov. 11 and Friday, Nov. 17–Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.
Described as a “humorous tour de force,” How the Other Half Loves by British playwright Alan Ayckbourn is a comic romp of mistakes and misunderstandings. The action takes place in the homes of two very different couples simultaneously on stage. A third couple, visiting both houses on different nights, but at the same time on stage, become caught up in the farcical mayhem.
“It’s a very funny play I would describe as a mixture of domestic comedy and farce with very human characters,” said David Gardiner, the Viterbo faculty member who is directing the production. “It’s a comedy that is based not on jokes, but rather on the characters, their relationships and their many comedic complications. I think audiences will enjoy the unusual nature of the show.”
How the Other Half Loves stars Viterbo students Jillian Brenner, Naomi Haag, Jared Boyd Miller, Justin West Niebow, Jason Rose, and Isabella Weiss playing three married couples. It is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
Tickets are $20 for reserved seating. For more information or to order tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
