YAMATO: THE DRUMMERS OF JAPAN RETURN TO VITERBO UNIVERSITY WITH ALL NEW SHOW FEB. 11
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Experience heart-pounding energy, pulsating rhythms, and vibrant melodies as Yamato: The Drummers of Japan return to Viterbo University to present the all-new show Chousensha: The Challengers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
Yamato is an audience favorite at Viterbo, and this will be their fourth performance at the university. The group has the unique ability to play a wide range of traditional Japanese music while infusing a humor and spirit that will keep audience members on the edge of their seats. Yamato’s greatest goal is to send audiences home after each performance with a new vitality and passion for life.
Audience members will experience the phenomenon that has become a favorite of audiences worldwide. Yamato has given over 3,500 performances in 53 countries. The group was founded by Masa Ogawa in 1993 in Nara, Japan, “the land of Yamato.”
Chousensha: The Challengers is created with the members’ feelings on their own lives and their experiences of challenging their own limits. The performance offers an anthem of encouragement to all who were born in the same era and continue their own challenges.
This performance is part of Viterbo’s Bright Star Season and is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. WXOW News 19 and WXYM Mix 96.1 FM are the media sponsors.
Tickets are $38 for main floor, $34 for lower balcony, and $28 for upper balcony seating. For tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
