Pledge to Go Green Eco-Challenge Update

By Karen Hurtgen

Viterbo is amazing—this is the first year we have participated in the Northwest Earth Institute Campus Eco-Challenge, and Viterbo is in third place among participating universities in the entire world.

From Dec. 2018–Feb. 15, Viterbo earned 4,191 points to get us much closer to second place. In fact, we are only 1,441 points away from second. Dickinson College is in first place, Point Loma Nazarene University is second, and Viterbo University is third with 10,645 points. Reminder, for every 50 points you earn, your name will be entered into a drawing for multiple prizes and gift cards.

The Campus Eco-Challenge is a year-long challenge that runs through Sept. 2019. Pledge to Go Green participants are encouraged to log into their profiles and confirm their pledges to earn more points. If you are interested in participating, and haven’t signed up yet, there is an Eco-Challenge button within the Viterbo App under MyVU, to jump users into the Eco-Challenge website from their phone. Click here for the website. This will allow you to confirm and track pledges daily.
