[Men's Basketball] V-Hawks Drop Game Against UW-Eau Claire

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The men's basketball team lost to the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds, 64-44, at R.W. Beggs Senior Gymnasium on Wednesday. The V-Hawks have now lost four straight games. The Blugolds have won each of the four games in the series dating back to 2014.

Mankato, Min. – The Viterbo University men's and women's track and field teams opened the 2017-18 indoor season this past Saturday at the Chuck Peterson Open at Minnesota State University – Mankato. The meet included three new program records and one national qualifier.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The 2-ranked Women's Volleyball team lost to #4 Dordt College (Iowa) 3-1 (25-23, 24-26, 17-25, 19-25) in the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship Tournament Semifinal Match at Tyson Events Center on Saturday. The loss was the V-Hawks' first since October 14 and snaps their streak of consecutive set wins at 41. Viterbo has won at least 39 games in each of their last four seasons.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The #2-ranked Women's Volleyball team defeated #7 Park University (Mo.) 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) in the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Round at Tyson Events Center on Friday. Viterbo overcame a 22-16 third set deficit to complete the sweep. The V-Hawks advance to the semifinal round for the third time in school history.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The #2-ranked Women's Volleyball team defeated #19 University of Jamestown 3-0 (26-24, 25-11, 25-18) in a Round of Sixteen of the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship Tournament in the Tyson Events Center on Friday. Viterbo has won 37 consecutive sets and is now 4-1 all-time in the round of 16.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The #2-ranked Women's Volleyball team defeated #15 Eastern Oregon University 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-18) in the third pool play round of the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship Tournament in the Tyson Events Center on Thursday. Viterbo has now won 34 consecutive sets and moves onto the NAIA single elimination bracket for the fifth time in school history. The V-Hawks are now 14-1 all-time in NAIA pool play.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Women's Volleyball team defeated #17 Georgetown College (Ky.) 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-18) in the second pool play round of the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship Tournament in the Tyson Events Center on Wednesday. #2-ranked Viterbo collected 42 kills, including 12 by Aubrey Aspen (JR/Sparta, Wis.). The V-Hawks also held the Tigers to a .105 hitting percentage with nine blocks.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Women's Volleyball team defeated Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-19) in the first pool play round of the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship Tournament. The V-Hawks extended their win streak to 12 matches and have now won 28 consecutive sets. 

[Men's Basketball] Haberman Scores 1000th Point in Road Game at Martin Luther College

NEW ULM, Minn. – Senior Forward Ethan Haberman (SR/La Crosse, Wis.) scored his 1000th in the first half of a 99-41 victory over Martin Luther College on Monday night. Haberman became the 34th player in Viterbo Men's Basketball history to score one thousand points in their career and the first to do so since Alex Diciaula (2010-2015). Haberman scored five points in the game to go with a game-high seven rebounds and four assists.

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's Basketball team lost to UW-La Crosse 73-69 in the annual Alumni Cup Game at R.W. Beggs Sr. Gymnasium on Monday. The loss snaps a six-game win streak by the V-Hawks. Jared Fleischmann (SR/Marshfield, Wis.) recorded his second-consecutive double-double.

The V-Hawks overcame a 14-point first-half deficit and trailed by four points with 20 seconds remaining in the game. Viterbo has now won five straight games.
